Work Experience/Placement Program
At Altina Widllife Park we offer a Work Experience/Placement program. Student's are advised to only apply if they have a genuine interest in working in the Zoo industry as applications will be screened by Management. Prior to recruiting staff all applicants are“screened” by Managing Directors and progress through a series of interviews to allow for the best possible candidate to be given the opportunity to join our team.
Regardless of permanent position availability we will continuously consider Volunteer applicants on their merits. MATERNITY POSITION ZOO KEEPER/TOUR GUIDE
A position is available for an outgoing, responsible person who is willing to carry out all duties associated with Park and animal management including: enclosure maintenance, animal welfare, conducting tours, animal food prep (weigh, portion, prepare, store) and general duties.
We are offering maternity position for a minimum period of 4 months in which communication, time management, excellent PR skills and an extensive knowledge of various animals and their behaviour would be a definite advantage. Experience in handling horses would be an asset but not necessary. Must be willing to do overtime/weekend work.
A competitive wage package will be offered in line with the level of experience and skills. The position may result in a full time position for the right applicant.

VOLUNTEER - Must be available at least 1 day per week for a minimum of 3 months.
Altina is always looking for fun, animal loving volunteers to join our team. Duties will include; basic animal handling, cleaning and basic maintenance of enclosures, food preparation etc. Hours are 8am-4pm.
Prior animal experience is necessary.
