About Us:

Altina Wildlife Park is a Nationally Accredited Exotic and Native Animal Breeding Facility that does its part in bringing endangered animals back from the brink of extinction, which as you could imagine, is a monumental task. With family on our side we have created one of the most unique, successful zoos in Australia. The Park is set on a 207-hectare bush property on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River at Darlington Point. The Park currently houses a diverse range of animals and has successfully been operating personalised, horse-drawn cart tours since 2004.

We are committed to providing clients with an unforgettable, up-close and personal experience that will involve them with nature and majestic animals from all over the world to learn about the environment, conservation, fauna and flora – and have fun at the same time.

The development of the Park has occurred in well thought-out stages over the past 12 years with continuous re-evaluations and new goals being set each year. Over the next five years we will see the acquisition of Servals, Hippopotamus, Tigers, Cotton top Tamarins and Squirrel Monkeys and the building of appropriate infrastructure to accommodate them.  Animals will be sourced from zoos in Australia and abroad.

Altina has an open layout that allows the animals to feel free, being able to see approximately 1km in every direction, as well as being able to see neighbouring species next to their own enclosures. Controlled tours allow the animals to remain relaxed at all times and ensures a stress free environment which aligns as closely as possible to their natural habitat and therefore encourages more normal animal behaviours.

Altina & Conservation:

Altina’s mission is to create and maintain memorable educational and unique visitor experiences in the hopes that this will inspire all in joining us in conserving wildlife and the environment. Through the support of generous businesses and visitors, Altina has managed to assist in the conservation efforts with many species within Australasia as well as others dancing on the boundary of extinction worldwide.

Some of Altina’s successful achievements are with the programs involving species such as:  Maned Wolves, African Wild Dogs, Scimitar Horned Oryx, Addax Antelope, Przewalski Horses, Hog Deer and just recently, the Southern White Rhino Project.
